VANCOUVER, BC
On our first night in Vancouver, we headed to MeeT in Gastown—one of their three locations—for dinner and a nightcap.
The place was alive with good energy, and there wasn’t an empty seat in the house. I loved seeing such a diverse crowd enjoying the vegan comfort food and drinks. Unfortunately, being the amateur photographer that I am, I wasn’t able to capture any pictures of our meals worth sharing, but it was all delicious!
Everything from the burgers, Butter Chikkin Poutine, Rocky Road Ganache Tart, wine, and local beers on tap are vegan. Most items are even gluten-free.

Feast your eyes on the Sweet-Chili Cauliflower, battered and tossed in a tamarind chili glaze, finished with scallions and sesame seeds. If this beauty doesn’t tickle your fancy, maybe you’d rather pair your craft draught with their Mucho Gusto Burger: housemade black bean patty, topped with guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce, housemade queso, and taco strips on a gluten-free bun.
The menu also features Artichoke Spinach Dip, Groovy Gravy Fries—and a mac’n’cheez burger?! You’re starting to get the picture, right? MeeT is the perfect place for winding down and feeding your beer munchies!
Science World
EXPLORING THE CITY
We stayed at a low-key hotel, which was super cheap and surprisingly cozy. It was walking distance from Science World and the busy, tree-lined streets of downtown Vancouver. I immediately fell in love with the city and can’t wait to visit again.
Surrounded by water and mountains, it has an urban feel that hasn’t lost touch with nature. The air is crisp and clean. The people seemed different too, in a good way that I can’t quite describe.
The stopover in Vancouver was short, and I was confined to the hotel room with a stomach bug for most of it. Luckily, we made it to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, which was at the very top of my list. I’ll have to make another trip to explore the area’s hiking trails, ride the Sea to Sky Gondola, and city-hop on a float plane.
Until next time Vancouver, XOXO!
