Now that you’re deep into the routine of ordering take-out and delivery, your burrito or nachos or tacos or all three could probably benefit from edible and drinkable accessories. Here are a few tasty treats to take on your trip through the flavorside of Latin America.
SOUR CREAM DREAM
I will forever rave about Better Than Sour Cream from Tofutti (featured image). It’s been on the all-star shortlist of my favorite vegan foods since the day my taste buds had the pleasure of making its acquaintance. I scoop heaping tablespoons of the creamiest, dreamiest dairy alternative onto my Christmas tamales, jackfruit taquitos, and spicy breakfast potatoes. Homemade burritos are incomplete without it. And other than maybe fresh guacamole, a quesadilla couldn’t be dipped in anything tastier.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, Your life will be so much more fulfilling with Tofutti Better Than Sour Cream in it.
Siete Foods Spicy Blanco Cashew Queso
MORE CHEESE, PLEASE
Siete Foods, a fairly young Mexican-American food brand based in Austin, TX, has a great lineup of vegan products that are also gluten-free, soy-free, and grain-free. Since we’re talking dips, I gotta give a quick shoutout to their Cashew Queso, available in two flavors: Mild Nacho and Spicy Blanco. Both are yummy-yum and easy on your tummy-tum. 😄
Trader Joe’s Organic Creamy Cashew Fiesta Dip
What I love most about Trader Joe’s Organic Creamy Cashew Fiesta Dip is the simple, all-organic ingredient list: cashews, potatoes, carrots, onions, green chile peppers, jalapeño peppers, tomato paste, salt, garlic powder, and distilled vinegar. Heat some up, and you and a fresh bag of tortilla chips are in for a real good time.
Trader Joe’s Pineapple Salsa
TOMATO EN FUEGO
Alright, this salsa from Trader Joe’s isn’t actually fire-hot—it’s mild at best—but for $1.99 and a rhyme, I’m gonna say it anyway. The blend of tomato, pineapple, and peppers lands on the sweeter side, which makes me think it might be a better match for dripping on plant-based tacos than dunking chips.
TEQUILA SO REALLA
For the too-sexy sound that inspired this headline, watch TOKiMONSTA and Anderson .Paak put visuals to their musical magic. The Grammy-winning rapper hails from my hometown of Oxnard. Bad *ss.
To wash down every delectable Mexican bite, try a Casamigos margarita. Or pour a shot—or two, or three, or four—to celebrate another delicious meal enjoyed. If you’re anything like me, great food inspires gratitude. For abundance, for health, for life.
That’s all for now, friends. Cheers!
